Top Five Waterfalls in Perthshire

Hermitage

The River Braan is a Waterfall watchers slice of heaven. Situated just outside of Dunkeld and Birnam, the area know as the Hermitage will leave you stunned, admiring it's huge Douglas Fir trees as the river flows over Black Linn Falls. A particularly great vantage point is from the 18th century Ossian's Hall. If you keep walking along the footpath upstream you will encounter plenty of incredible waterfalls all the way up to Rumbling Bridge where the river cascades underneath a small road bridge

Falls of Bruar

Immortalised by the poet Robert Burns, the falls of Bruar are a series of wonderous waterfalls leading up the hill from the famous House of Bruar. The lower falls are a well photographed section from its wonderful stone bridge, but it's well worth the extra hike further up to the impressive upper falls.

The Falls of Bruar is one of the best places to go Canyoning in Scotland.

Acharn

The 80ft drop of Acharn Falls is a magnificent sight, especially after heavy rain. After walking through the enigmatic Hermits cave, it provides a great frame to your photos. On your way back down the footpath, admire the views down towards Loch Tay.

Birks of Aberfeldy

Scotland's national Bard, Rabbie Burns himself loved this place that much that he wrote a poem in tribute to it. A short walk from Aberfeldy it comprises two different falls which merge in this magnificent setting. The Birks walk has amazing views throughout, with the most awe inspiring, looking directly down the main falls from directly above it on a small bridge.
