Top Five Boardsports to do in Perthshire

Top Five Perthshire Board Sports

Stand Up Paddleboarding

With so many lochs to explore and rivers to travel down, Perthshire really is a. World class SUP destination. This sport is a great way to check out some wonderful sights, from the view of Ben Lawers from Loch Tay, to floating down the River Tay thought the city of Perth. You can take a lesson, book in for a river trip or even hire your own boards. It's fun, fairly easy to pick up and a great work out. You can even do Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga here in Perthshire!

Skateboarding

Sidewalk surfers are well catered to here in Perthshire with several great skateparks. The must visit parks are in Perth and Comrie, with others in Pitlochry, Aberfeldy, Blairgowrie, Coupar Angus, Errol, Crieff, Auchterarder, Scone and Kinross.

Windsurfing/Windsurfing

With so many Lochs and plenty with excellent waterside access, there is excellent scope to Windsurf or Wingsurf.

Wingsurfing is a cross between Windsurfing and Kitesurfing with the Inflatable Wing being held in your hand unlike a Windsurf Sail which is attached to the board. Used both with a foil (a feeling similar to flying above the water) and on a Stand Up Paddleboard, it's the new trending sport in many surf zones throughout the World.

River Surfing

Surfing? In Perthshire? Yup that's a thing!. Surfing a surfing, stationary wave or 'standing wave' is an exhilarating feeling. It can be done, with the right conditions, skill levels and specialist equipment on surfboards, stand up paddleboards, kayaks and canoes. The River Tay is particularly blessed with some incredible waves

Mountainboarding

Mountain Boards are a cross between Skateboards and Snowboards. Think of riding down slopes on a big board equipped with chunky tyres. A great adrenalin soaked summer activity that has the buzz of Snowboarding. At St Magdalenes Hill in Perth (and with some of the best views looking down on the city) you will find a purpose built, free to use, Mountain Board park with jumps, rails and a boardercross track.
